NYP requested CRO’s assistance after a member of the public found a person at the base of the cove believed to be deceased. Following confirmation from the Police that this was a fatality, team members assisted with the evacuation of the deceased from the scene and passed onto the undertaker.

North Yorkshire Police (NYP) received an incomplete call from someone (or some people?) who had walked off Whernside, was uninjured but lost and benighted, so couldn’t find their car. From some of the words given, he may have been in the Gunnerfleet area. It transpired that the call had ‘roamed’*
