A walker (f) slipped while climbing a stile, fracturing her neck of femur. CRO members assisted the ambulance crew by carrying her to a CRO vehicle, for transfer to a road ambulance. Volunteer hours 23.
CRO were asked by our neighbours, Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association, to provide assistance on an incident in their area. Four cavers were reported overdue in Swan Dike Pot, above Pen-y-ghent Gill. Two of the party had made their way out of the cave and reported that one member of the party
North Yorkshire Police passed on a message that two new-born lambs were stuck down a mine shaft, near Gordale House, Malham. CRO caving members were unable to descend very far into the awkward and narrowing natural rift in the limestone bedrock and were unable to see or hear anything. The lambs’ owners
CRO were called out by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to help attend to a walker (m 50) who had fallen on steps at Malham Cove. CRO was stood down shortly after getting mobile, when ambulance paramedics advised that they were able to manage the incident. Volunteer hours: 1
A walker (m 49) collapsed whilst walking up the stepped path to the side of Malham Cove. He was escorted, on foot, to a CRO vehicle and transported to Malham village. Volunteer hours: 29
