Team Condemns Theft of Rescue Equipment
Following reports received over the weekend, CRO members went to check on a 'highline' traverse which the team has rigged in Kingsdale Master Cave, in preparation for any possible incident during the upcoming European Speleological Congress (EuroSpeleo 2016). Three walkers (f37, f33, m33) having completed Ingleborough as part of a "3 peaks" walk, reported themselves lost in darkness, rain and low cloud during their descent of the hill. They had strayed a little way off the path near to Sulber, but were found by a CRO team at

A walker (m,69) was reported to have collapsed at Malham Cove, 'on the pavements'. The Yorkshire Ambulance Service paramedics assessed him, then waved off the air anbulance and stood CRO down, as the patient was at the gate on to the Malham Rakes road. Only one CRO member reached the

Yorkshire Ambulance Service requested assistance, following a report of a man 'passed out under Ribblehead Viaduct'. No sooner had the CRO duty controller advised YAS control that a road ambulance could drive to the viaduct than CRO was stood down. The local post van had collected the patient and delivered

Incident 60/2016 – Jul. 31st Sun. 14.40 – Fluted Hole, Newby Moss, North Yorkshire – Animal Rescue.
A caver reported a lamb at the bottom of the 15m open shaft of Fluted Hole. A small CRO team confirmed this and rescued the animal, then, because it did not appear to be in tip-top condition, took it back to Bleak Bank Farm for attention. Volunteer hours: 12.
