A group of walkers told the farmer at Newby Cote that they had ‘heard a lamb stuck down Fife Pot and it sounded to be in distress.’. North Yorkshire Police passed the message on and a small team drove up to Newby Moss in the Honda Pioneer. Meanwhile, the lamb had gone quiet but was soon found, hauled to the surface and released, apparently unharmed, onto the fell.
