YAS passed on a call for a walker (m, 58) who was reported to have ‘fallen off a 1m wall’, sustaining a suspected ankle fracture on the footpath between Cappleside and Hard Head Farm, Rathmell. Team members were alerted but as the first arrived at Base to collect a vehicle, the duty controller learned that the casualty was in the sheep trailer behind a farmer’s quad bike, on the way to a nearby farm. The team was stood down and YAS Control advised so that arrangements could be made for an ambulance pick-up.
