North Yorkshire Police called the team to assist a canyoner (f, 14) who had fallen about 9 metres into the River Doe. Her group leaders had brought her out onto the bank, where she was complaining of back pain. Team members attended together with paramedics from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service. After a check by the paramedics the team stretchered her back to the YAS ambulance for further assessment, using a simple rope system to protect the carry up a steep flight of steps. Many thanks to North Yorkshire Police and the visitors who kindly cleared the path so that we could efficiently evacuate the casualty.
