A walker (m, 64) slipped while walking from Ingleborough to Park Fell, sustaining a suspected broken ankle. A ‘hasty party’ (fell-runners with initial equipment) assessed and splinted the injury and put the patient into an insulated casualty bag. After further assessment by the team doctor, the patient was lifted onto a Bell stretcher and sledged/carried down to a team vehicle which took him to the YAS ambulance, waiting at the road-head.
