Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association received a call from Yorkshire Ambulance Service to a patient (initially described as a ‘body’) in the River Aire, near Riverside Walk, at Airton. As it was in CRO’s area, UWFRA transferred the call. Telephone and radio enquiries led to the conclusion that the statutory emergency services were able to stretcher the patient to an ambulance for assessment and that the team was not needed
