Four walkers (all m) were reported overdue on a Three Peaks walk, with a strong, bitterly cold wind blowing the snow. They had left the Station Inn, Ribblehead, at 07.00, being seen to head towards Whernside. Fortunately, they returned to the Inn (thirteen and a half hours later), just as the duty controller was phoning other pubs in the area.
